The National Association of Adamawa State Students (NUASS) has given the Adamawa State Commissioner for Higher Education. Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Rufai two working days to resign his appointment
Also asked to resign his appointment is the Special Adviser to Governor Muhammed Jibrilla on Students Affairs,Ahmed Marafa .

Meet the New President of the AUN Yola: Dr. Dawn Dekle,

The Board of Trustees of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) has appointed Dawn Dekle, Ph.D., as president, effective July 1, 2017. Dr. Dekle was selected after an international search and was endorsed unanimously by the Board of Trustees to assume the leadership role for the university.
Mr. Akin Kekere-Ekun, chairman of the board, said, “We are delighted that Dr. Dekle has accepted our offer and will join our learning community. I am confident that she will take our university into the next phase of development. Her vision for AUN in a global era resonated with the entire board and we welcome her with great enthusiasm and anticipation in the coming years.”

BREAKING NEWS: Bomb kills Children in Adamawa State (GRAPHIC IMAGES)


At least two children were confirmed dead as three others injured following a bomb explosion at Fadaman Rake in Hong Local Government areas of Adamawa Thursday evening , locals and police have said.
Locals  say that the incident occurred at about 7 pm local time while residents  were about to break their Ramadan fast, as deafening sound of a bomb rented the air forcing dwellers of the suburbs at the outskirts of the town to flee.
A local vigilante said that  a yet to be identified  driver in a starlet delivered a polythene bag to some children who were playing.

Pregnant woman beaten to death in Adamawa for ‘witchcraft’

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, Moses Jitoboh, has confirmed the arrest of five suspects for beating a pregnant woman to death for alleged witchcraft.
Mr. Jitoboh told journalists in Yola on Saturday that the 32 year old woman, Ayina Afraimu, of Falu village in Guyuk Local Government Area of the state, was killed by the suspects who used sticks and rope.
“She was attacked with sticks, rope and killed by five suspects on allegation that the deceased was a witch, who was responsible for the deaths and sickness of persons in the town of Falu.
